Frequently Asked Questions
How often should a commercial marine diesel engine be serviced?
As a general rule, most commercial marine diesel engines should be serviced every 12 Months or 200–500 hours 1000hrs if engine meets Volvo Penta extended service interval conditions, depending on the manufacturer’s recommendations and how hard the vessel is working. For vessels in heavy commercial use, we’d always recommend sticking to the lower end of that range. Regular servicing isn’t just about keeping the engine running, it’s about catching small issues before they become expensive ones and keeping your vessel compliant and insurable and preventing breakdowns at Sea.
Can you come to our vessel or do we need to bring it to you?
We offer both. For routine servicing and many repairs, we’re happy to come to you, whether that’s at your marina, mooring or boatyard. For larger jobs like repowers or more involved repairs, it may be more practical to have the vessel brought to us. Get in touch and we’ll work out the best option for your situation.
Do you manage the whole repower job?
Yes. We handle the entire process from start to finish, including sourcing the engine, managing the installation, electrical integration and commissioning. You won’t need to coordinate multiple contractors or chase down parts. We take care of it so you can focus on running your operation.
