Coastal Diesel & Marine is a Sunshine Coast-based team that lives and breathes commercial marine. We’re based at Lawrie’s Boat Yard in Buddina, right on the water, which is exactly where we like to be. Whether it’s a scheduled service, a full repower or a vessel that’s decided to stop working at the worst possible time, we show up, we sort it, and we do it properly.
Our clients include charter operators, commercial fishermen, work boat companies and marine contractors who can’t afford downtime.
Meet The Skipper
Daniel Rumney
Managing Director
Dan started Coastal Diesel & Marine in 2022 after spending years working across the marine and heavy diesel industry. With a background in commercial vessels and a growing frustration at the lack of quality, specialist marine diesel services on the Sunshine Coast, he saw an opportunity to build something better, a business built on honest advice, quality workmanship and a genuine love for the water.
Dan holds a dual-trade certification as a Diesel Mechanic and an Automotive Electrician, giving him a well-rounded understanding of how vessels perform from the engine room out.
Before starting Coastal Diesel & Marine, Dan honed his skills working across a range of commercial and recreational vessels, building the kind of hands-on experience that only comes from years of solving real problems on the water.
Ask Dan what his favourite part of the job is, and he’ll tell you it’s the moment a vessel leaves the yard running better than it has in years, knowing the owner can head out with confidence and trust in what’s underneath.

Based at Lawrie’s Boat Yard, we’re Sunshine Coast based but we regularly attend marinas, boat ramps and vessel locations across the Sunshine Coast and beyond. For commercial operators, we understand getting your vessel to us isn’t always possible.
